I wish these had removable tethers because they just get in the way. I'll likely cut them off at some point. These gloves are high quality and good for protecting the wearer and anyone else around from the less-than-lucid moments.

These gloves by lefeke are not exactly what I expected, but I must say that I am happy with some of the unexpected features. My mother-in-law has severe dementia with contracture and she keeps her hands clenched tight. These gloves incorporate a padded hard support board which keeps her hands open rather then clenched shut. The board has small holes in it which allows for some air flow. The gloves themselves are made of a soft ventilated mesh material which prevents her hands from becoming irritated and sweaty. All in all, these gloves are very nice.The two features that I wish these gloves had are:(1) the straps - It would be far, far better if they used Velcro instead of the plastic slide clips.(2) the fact that the gloves can't be opened up. It's very difficult to insert her hands into the end of the gloves with them clenched tight. If one side of the glove had a Velcro closure, it would be infinitely easier to lay her hand on the opened glove, open her fingers, and then Velcro the side closed.
