Fit our 2006 42 inch craftsman. Don’t bother with the rest of them. This was a good price for a good part. Works well.

Start broken again. Shorted out. Don’t buy this productLast year I purchased a starter for my riding snapper. Had to buy a new one this year because the solenoid did not raise gear to start engine.Not sure what company on Amazon I purchased it but they all come from China so I feel this is relevant to post here. Let the buyer beware buying cheap electric parts made in China. Could not source a starter made in USA. But 30.00 vs 120plus. I guess it’s worth the risk.My snapper was made in 80’s. The original startedWas replace last year. And again this year.Hopefully I’ll get a few years on this one. Cross my fingers. I did buy a metal gear not a plastic one like the last one.

Works well

Mower is 1 year old. Left the key on thought the battery was weak found cause previous starter was going bad, tried a new battery with no luck. Found that one of the internal magnets had come off the OEM starter. Part no longer in warranty so I ordered this one.Put starter on, as soon as i turned the key heard the mower turn over and then a loud bang. Main gear broke on first attempt. Motor turns by hand easily. Poor metal gear quality, my story matches others I've read on reviews.
