Fun way to bling up dessert!
I found myself wanting to try something new, and silver foil for cakes and such was the way I wanted to go. I have watched a bunch of cooking shows, so naturally that made me feel as if I totally had this under control. To be fair, I did not. The first effort resulted in an overly silvered cupcake. My bad! The next time I used tweezers (just for kitchen and not for anything else) and a wooden skewer to help place and minimize the amount I was using at a single cupcake. The end result was fabulous. I could not taste the silver leaf foil, which is a good thing since it would distract from the flavor of the dessert, but I can see this easily being used to dress up dessert made by a store so it's more fancy and personalized.

So Cool
This Edible Silver Leaf Flakes are AWESOME! I have never tried Silver leafing before and when I got the chance I had to get it. It is so much fun to use and even more fun to eat. Comes in flakes in a shall jar but there is so much inside. I had to try it, so I made up a batch of cookies to put it on. I made dark chocolate cookies and put a little design on it, well I tried to, need practice with it...lol But it was so much fun to work with. I was trying to be so careful thinking, it's silver be careful...lol But the end result was fabulous. Almost didn't want to eat them, but had to try it and flavor was great and look was fabulous!Everyone should at least try it, either using it or tasting it.If you are looking at it and considering getting it, do it, get it, have fun and enjoy and then let us know what you think of it.

The box contains a decent amount of edible silver
This weekend is the celebration of the summer/fall birthdays in our extended family. Since nearly all birthdays fall into a June group and a November/December group, we slide the March, July, and September outliers into the nearest bunch and we celebrate twice a year.Everyone comes to my house for dinner followed by cake and pie desserts. This year the elegant three-layer chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache lake on top will be gold dusted and garnished with tiny pearls and silver foil. The ganache is cooling and will soon be embellished so the foil will stick.I have torn the foil into appropriately sized pieces. It is easy to work with and I am certain will give just the effect desired.I tried once again to attach a photo of the completed project and once again failed. Trust me when I say the cake is spectacular.I expect the two vegetarians to pull out the silver and agonize about the gold dust before surrendering to the chocolate. If you bake, this is a product you might want to stockpile. I was pleased with it.

Easy to use and looks good
I've used real (edible) gold leaf quite a bit in the past for various desserts, snacks, and beverages. This is my first time using an edible silver leaf. I really like the look! This jar has PLENTY of silver leaf. The jar is stuffed full. The bright silver color is just what you'd expect. When you first open a jar, make sure it's in an area where there is no blowing air - as this silver leaf will blow out easily.Like with real gold leaf, this silver leaf is very thin. I like that, as it makes it much easier to work with.I use a small paintbrush and tweezers when working with silver foil. Some of the pieces are larger than others, so you can choose the size you need, or crush larger pieces to create smaller flakes. Very easy.Overall, I really like working with this silver leaf. Instead of waiting for special occasions, I like to use gold leaf and now silver leaf on a regular basis. It just makes things more fun!I do recommend this silver leaf!

So pretty
I've always only seen gold leaf and I personally, like silver more. This gives me far more options for decorating my desserts.

Happy to have it. Not sure how much we want to eat.
There's debate among cooks and nutritionists about how much gold and metal leaf people should be eating, now that these decorations are so common on TV cooking shows. We're on the side of enjoying the lovely look of these "flakes" or "leaf." But we also sometimes remove the flakes before eating our treats. We're not chemists so we're not 100 percent sure of the ingredients manufacturers put into their flakes. We're taking this product at face value and we are, indeed, using it. However, we're also saying: We're experienced with using this kind of decoration and we're not telling everybody to go ahead and eat the flakes, if they prefer to push some of them to the side of their plate. So, we're giving this 3 stars and we're reporting that we've used them and they're attractive. Will we re-order this particular brand? No. We've got another brand that tells us more about their sourcing and ingredients that we prefer.

Fun decorative element
Silver leaf is a fun decorative element that you can add to all kinds of desserts, cookies, cakes, anything covered by chocolate, and more. A little goes a long way and this container is absolutely completely full to the brim with product so you should be able to do a lot. It takes some trial and error to learn how to separate the silver leaf and decorate with it which makes the fullness of this container even better. One nice option is to practice using cookies or cupcakes so you can try a different effect on each to learn and see what you like without ending up with too much on one dessert and making it look obviously like you were practicing - everyone will assume their cookie design was especially for them. You can also use this in nail art and some crafting!

Beautiful sparkle to your baked goods!
At first, it feels unnatural to eat something with these flakes in it but they're beautiful and you get over it quickly especially since it doesn't have a taste. This jar contained a large amount (in my opinion) to decorate several projects with. A little goes a long way. The jar it comes in is pretty and could be easily giftable for the bakers in your life if you can get the big sticker tag off of it.
