This thing is a boss! Solid, sturdy, large capacity, and tons of steam. I really like this stand-alone steamer so I can be using the stove burners for other things at the same time, especially since my wok takes up a lot of space on the stove. I used to have a steamer with oval, plastic steaming baskets, but needed one that I could put whole plates or casserole dishes into, and this one is perfect. I really appreciate that all the parts are dishwasher safe too. I've used it for Chinese dishes, fish, chicken, dim sum, and Thai sticky rice. We also especially love it for artichokes: cut off stems and the top 1/3rd with a serrated knife; cut off any remaining prickles with kitchen shears; fill steamer about half full with cool water and steam artichokes upside down (tops down, stem-sides up) for 50 mins; cool until they can be handled; cut in half starting from stem end, and remove the fuzzy chokes (they can be done ahead up to this point and grilled when you are ready; bring up to room temp if they have been refrigerated;) brush those center-cut edges with olive oil and sprinkle with salt; grill center-cut-side-down on bbq for 5 mins. Serve hot, cold, or room temp with whatever you like to dip into - mayo, ranch, melted butter or ghee, olive oil, etc. That short grilling step really amps up the flavor and transforms plain, steamed artichokes into something special. Incredibly delicious!One thing I should mention is that there is a learning curve with this steamer, as with any steamer. Our former Secura steamer broke after 3 years, and unfortunately is no longer manufactured, which forced us to buy the Euro Cuisine as a replacement. It works as well as our former steamer, but as one reviewer mentioned previously, you will need to find a smaller stainless tray to put inside to prevent juices from dripping to the lower tier or reservoir in case you are cooking fish or poultry. Other than that, works great, fast, looks chic, extremely easy to use and clean!

Larger than I expected (my fault for not reading closer), but love this steamer. Do entire ears of corn on the cob and mixed vegetables for the entire family at dinner. Well made and easy to use; recommend.

The steamer worked new out of the box. I noticed it cooks slower than other steamers I've used. But it would no longer turn on in less than 1 week of purchase, so I had to return for a refund. Is there no quality control here?

This is a beautiful and useful steamer where the timer goes off when it's done. Just turn it on and forget about it. Food can't burn.The only complaint I have is that I wish the water pan would pull out to wash. As is, I find it a little difficult to wash without getting water in the electrical unit. Just have to be extra careful.Other than that it works very well. If you like to steam your food, this is a good electrical steamer.

I love this item. I do the cookie-cutter, chicken, broccoli, and rice. I steam all my food for 5 days in about 30 minutes plus 5 for clean up. I cook about 2-2 1/2 bls of chicken, 2 lbs of broccoli and 5 cups of rice. ( bought a 1 quart stainless steel bowl). Well worth the time for me. It would take me hours to meal prep. I just add all the food in and steam away while I take care of other things. I see others saying the drip tray is shallow. It is to a extent. I have no trouble with it and if it does overflow, I just let it go. The food is still getting steamed. Well worth the money for me. Within two uses it paid for itself in the time I saved. I highly recommend if you enjoy saving time while meal prepping with a cookie-cutter diet. Ive used it for other foods as well and it works well. Very hot. Just need to monitor and learn. I put snap peas in. 6 minutes later, the peas were starting to brown.

I just got the steamer yesterday, and it is a fine piece of machinery. Beautiful design. But they are short on instructions...no videos, nothing that illustrate how to cook other foods than vegetables in the steamer. The manual mentions a rice bowl, but I do not see the rice bowl, unless the steam concentrator doubles up as a rice bowl which I doubt...and how about hard boiled eggs...? So its sharp on design and beauty, but short on specific instructions, and short on marketing too...When I finally use it and experiment with it, I will let you know. Also the fact that is a light stainless steel instead of plastic helps too, but I wonder if the BPA free ones are more versatile....If anyone knows how to cook rice in it, please let me know.....

I meant back and forth before purchasing but so glad I bought this. It’s easy to use and makes eating healthy quick and easy. The veggies are just right!
