I am so happy I found this book!
I am one of the unfortunate people who has severe reflux. Most days I would have a constant feeling of burning in my chest and throat, could only sleep propped up, and sometimes would have to try and sleep sitting up. Ugh! I am working with a doctor to try and figure out why this problem is so bad and to see what can be done, if anything, to fix it. My quality of life has been so bad that I started researching what kind of foods I can eat and what foods I shouldn't eat. That is how I came upon this book. It sounded good and figured I had nothing to lose, so I purchased it. Best decision I could have made! This book changed the quality of my life. I started the meal plan and within 3 days was able to cut back on acid blockers. After two weeks on this meal plan, I was able to eat, in small doses, some foods that are known reflux triggers for me. For the most part, now that I'm feeling so much better, I am finding that I do not even want to eat the things that make me feel so sick.I will continue to work with my doctor to try and figure out why I have such bad reflux, but at least now I feel and sleep much better and can make smart decisions about what to put in my mouth. I am so happy I found this book! Thank you!!

Good information!
This book is very informative and the recipes are pretty good. I learned alot from this book and I encourage GERD suffers to purchase this. One thing I learned is that even though citrus is a big no no the zest is not, so you can still have the flavor without the acid. There are some recipes that you might have to wait on till your Gerd is under control but the recipes I've seen are all low acid. Dairy is one of them but they recommended using lowfat but better yet fat free dairy. Different things trigger reflux in each individual so the thing is if it's a trigger stay away. I have reflux and my dad just went to the hospital for a bleeding ulcer and this book has helped us both tremendously!

I Love This Cookbook
I have acid and bile relfux - silent reflux. PPI meds don't work and actually made the situation worse. I take Carafate, Gaviscon Advance, Aloe Vera, Ginger Chews, I avoid the typical trigger foods and I plan my weekly meals around this cook book. My family has enjoyed all of the recipes I've made, which are 5 or 6 of them so far. I'm glad I can have meals that contain sauces and gravies that are low fat and made with minimal ingredients. The fish sauce, soy sauce, dijon mustard, cumin, thyme, chicken broth and non fat dairy are all the flavors needed to make tasty dishes. You'll be making things from scratch, but it is not difficult at all. I'm glad I took a chance with this cookbook. - Mrs. J

There is food after reflux
I am generally disappointed in most cookbooks that I have purchased in the past. But after being diagnosed with acute esophageal inflammation, my doctor recommended (insisted) I start a high fiber acid reflux friendly diet. I realized that my pantry contained close to 80% trigger items. So I bought two of Karen Frazier's acid reflux cookbooks and a whole new way of eating is taking place. I have tried several of the recipes, not really expecting much since they are close to fat free, onion free, and garlic free (my three previous staples). I must say that I am surprisingly amazed at how much I am enjoying these meals. And how I can adapt my favorite recipes to comply with my new restrictions.

great recipes
My husband has suffered from acid reflux for several years. He has tried just about every prescription medication as well as OTC ones. Some work better than others but he hates taking medication. This cookbook is a lifesaver! Not only does the book fully describe the common symptoms and conditions associated with acid reflux as well as what puts people at higher risk but it tells you how to AVOID the problem in the first place. There are countless recipes for every meal/occasion and they are all very easy to read and follow. The book gives a nice list of foods to avoid and foods that can be enjoyed without problems, hints on how to avoid the symptoms if you do eat something acidic as well as tips and tricks for immediate relief. The best part about the book, however, are the recipes. I have tried several of them and my husband has liked them all. If he is able to avoid acid reflux all together by changing his diet then he will never have to worry about taking medication again. Good book, easy to read and informative. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Easy delicious recipes for GERD
This is now my primary cookbook. While I will always have to eat a GERD good diet, I did manage to get rid of the Barrett's disease on this diet. Almost all the recipes I have tried are easy and delicious. Having to learn a whole new way of cooking is not easy at my age (76) but this cookbook made it doable and I actually enjoy cooking again and, after becoming familiar with what GERD good ingredients are, I am now learning how to adjust other recipes to avoid trouble foods. I recommend this to anyone suffering from GERD.

Excellent tool for gaining control of your heartburn/reflux!
My husband and I both deal with heartburn almost daily. This book does a great job at explaining reflux/gerd in a way that I can understand. It outlines different factors that can trigger symptoms, methods of treatment, and of course, specific foods that one should absolutely avoid, as well as foods to eat in moderation, AND, foods to "enjoy with gusto!"There is a section with tips and tricks to immediate heartburn relief, which I found to be very helpful.Included is a 2 week meal plan, designed to help one gain control of their reflux/gerd/heartburn. Each day consists of Breakfast, snack 1, lunch, snack 2, and dinner. There is a shopping list for each week, broken up into organized categories, making shopping for the weeks recipes a breeze. There's also a chart to keep track of personal triggers (specific food, pH level, quantity consumed, and physical reactions)The recipes are great. They're easy to prepare, and have tons of FLAVOR! We really liked the Roasted Root Vegetable Stew and the Ginger Chicken and Rice Soup. The Acid Reflux Escape Plan is just what we needed!I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

At last some straightforward information about diet!
I found this book clear, informative and comfortingly un - scary. After two weeks I have noticed a marked improvement but I have been determinedly following the advice about foods to avoid. I found the lists of alternative flavourings helpful and managed to make a few tasty meals without garlic, tomatoes or spices ... Early days but it's given me a point of reference other than the antacid bottle.

Good Book
To say the truth, the book was 4 days late. However, i found it incredibly useful. It is put together in a very efficient way, holds all the useful info and tips. Recipes are divided into different sections so, its easy to find what you want. I do recommend it.

A few different recipes.
This is the second book I have bought and it wasn’t as informative as the first but it did add a couple of important points. The recipes are limited because an acid free diet is limited. They work though.
